Proxy settings window

Use the Proxy Settings window to configure DeepTrawl to use a proxy server.

If DeepTrawl repeatedly shows network errors while your computer is properly connected to the Internet, it is likely your network or Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses a proxy server. DeepTrawl needs the details of this proxy server in order to access pages from the web. Before proceeding, please obtain the following from your ISP or network administrator:

  1. What is the host name of the proxy server?
  2. What port does the proxy server use?
  3. Does the proxy server require you to enter a username and password? If so what are they?

Once you have this information, you are ready to configure DeepTrawl.

Note: you can choose to only use your proxy settings for certain urls. See the Per site proxy topic.
